re: Leichenhalle
Dear Mimi,
For several years now Helmut Kusdat ( kusdat_at_mail.com ) from Vienna has
tried to collect money for the restauration of the Leichenhalle. He
brought an architekt from Vienna, who, together with a local specialist,
and I believe Sergej Ossachuk, made a concrete plan. However, the cost
amounted to an enormous sum, and I think Helmut Kusdat was unable until
now to collect enough money for this plan. Quite possible that they
have the original plans.
If this is your new initiative, I wonder if the Czernowitz authorities
would not be willing to help, at least partially. Why leave it all to
us? And there is still a lot to do
in the cemetery, as Edgar's latest photographs show. !
Gabriele
