[Cz-L] The Ebner Family

First let me introduce myself, my name is Michael Cuff (Irish
Catholic/French Canadian). My wife's name is Holly (maiden name EBNER).
She is Austrian Jewish/Russian. When I decided to do the Family Tree for
both sides of our Family I didn't think it would be challenging. I was
wrong, especially for her side of the Family. My wife has very few living
relatives, and those she does have, can't provide me with any information.
She did know her aunts and uncles, but when and where they were born was
another story.
    I dug deeper and found her GA's and GU's, along with her GF, GGF and GGM
were born in Czernowitz. Sometimes it said Czernowitz, Austria, other times
Czernowitz, Roumania. (I realize this was the Austro/Hungarian Empire at the
time).
    The reason why I'm concentraing on the Ebner's is (even though I like
challenges), her mother was born in ?Russia and came from the
Messinger<Messenger>,family also from ?Russia. (That was one item, I'm sure
about. My wife mentioned her father's famuly was from Austria, her
mother's from Russia). I am taking a course on Basic Jewish Genealogy in
the US (on-line course from JewishGen), and I was concentrating on the
Messinger family first, but even the instructor couldn't find anything.

Notes:

    I believe the PGGM was born in Czernowitz, Roumania
    Sophie<Sadie><Sarah> MESSINGER<MESSENGER> I believe was born someplace
in Russia
        --The PGGF and PGGM were married before they came the US per the
Census
        --Per the 1930C Isak's first marriage was at the age of 25. So they
were married abt 1878?
    Annie<Anne><Ann> RADLER<REDLER> was born in Russia.
    I don't know if my wife's GGF, GU, or GAs had relatives in Czernowitz
(that is a big ? I'm trying to answer). (Anyone in Czernowitz before Isak?)
    Did my wife's GUs and GAs have any sons and daughters (in Czernowitz)?
    I traced back to Isak, but can't find anything for Yetta <FRAENKEL>
(maybe she had a different SURNAME?)
    Can't find any data for the MESSINGER<MESSENGER> family.
    Even though I listed the immigration date (for Isak and his 3 daughters
(along with Yetta) as Nov 19, 1921), it looks like they were held for 2 days
for some reason , therefore the true immigration date might be Non 21, 1921.

I will keep digging myself. I can probably find out the "m" (approx date)
if they appeard on a Census, and will keep all updated.
