Hardy, you have just solved a long-standing mystery for me! My
Czernowitzer father was forever closing windows in our New York City
apartment. My Philadelphia-raised mother would open them to get some
fresh air into the house; my father would come home from work and
immediately close them, concerned that there might be a draft. I
could never understand the basis for this concern until you wrote
about "Schiefer Mund" and the prevailing fear of a "Zug". Thanks!
You never know how a good current of information can open a window of the mind!
