I would like to clarify: The US Commission for the Preservation of America's
Heritage Abroad does not finance the restoration or the maintenance of the
properties it accepts to help, but it intervenes with the respective
governments that they not misuse or damage the properties which previously
were synagogues, churches graveyards, monuments and the like.

If there still is enough interest among members of this list in having the
Tempel returned to a more dignified use than the one for which it is used
now, an organization could be formed for this purpose and help could be
asked from the Commission.
