Hardy...this was "unser Regiment", with very many Czernowitz Jewish
volunteers. Also had a "Feldrabbiner" attached,a "Field Rabbi". Cornel

Das Kriegerdenkmal, gewidmet den Soldaten des in Czernowitz stationierten
Infanterieregiments Erzherzog Eugen Nummer 41, errichtet 1901, zum
zweihundertsten Jahrestag seines Bestehens, tr?gt noch immer gut leserlich
die Inschrift: "Die dankbare Bukowina. Den auf dem Felde der Ehre gefallenen

Angeh?rigen des Infanterieregimentes Erzherzog Eugen Numero 41".
The warrior memorial dedicated to the Czernowitz stationed Infantry
regiment
Erzherzog Eugen Number 41 erected in 1901, with the 200 year anniversary
of its creation still carries the inscription :
   "The thankful Bukovina. To those fallen on the field of honor, belonging
to the regiment Erzherzog Eugen Numero 41".
   In 1949 ,the obelisk was brutally removed by the Soviets.
   The pedestal with the inscription stayed on.
    On the bifurcation of Rathausstrasse and Kuczurmarastasse.
