As I am the senior of the list, I will lell you the "Emes"
Totscherl, is the diminutif fromTotsch, like the child of the big Totsch,
this was called by the ukrainian Jews "Barabulnik", from
Barabulies,(popatoes) and in the 16.century, the first potatoes were
importat from the northern Germany, the Land Brandenburg, for this reason
the Pols and Huzuls gave them the name of Mandeburges(Brandenburg was to
difficult to spell)and the totsch was called"Mandeburtschik....So the
potatoes and, for diat....for every potato one egg, separate the yaklk and
beaten to "snoyw than melt all toghether, and because they are like fluid
like a "Dichter Schmetten" , they are put with a spoon inhot oil,in second
turn to the other side, not too brown...delicious....."they zertoppen sech
auf der Zing"" .. My mother did them for Pssach, and also from this mass she
did a"Kigel...next time I wll gibe you the receipe, I have many Pessach
