Hi all! I have been to a Jewish deli because a friend said they had good
stuffed kishke and a decent cholent. The obviously(by his apparel) very
orthodox owner asked why I knew cholent(!!!) so I told him my Czernowitz
grandmother used to make it. And his face lit up and he said he had a set of
tefillin which were made about 200 yrs ago by the very famous "Mottel from
Czernowitz". Has anybody heard of this person???? Apparently Mottel made
all the boxes and a rabbinical friend/scribe did the contents. Cornel
