Hello Harry !!

I am the son of Friedrich Budabin and Suzanne Kula. As I write this note I
am looking at their marriage certificate dated June 1, 1935. My father's
address is given as str. Stefan cel Mare No. 48/c - which was the home
address of his parents

My parents arrived in New York City on the Staatendam on August 22, 1939. On
August 27 they crossed into Canada at Lacolle, Quebec (en route to Montreal)
and by September 4 were living in Toronto from where they wrote their first
letter from what was to be home for the rest of their lives, "Well, they
declared war here yesterday ...".

So, we're not exactly neighbours, but ...

I will take a look at your family tree and see if there are any connections
- will advise.

Hi - My name is Harry Jarvis and I have lived in England since 1937. I was
born in 1922 in Cuciurul-Mare,
son of Dr.A.Jaslowitz and Lotte Singer of Voloca.
>From 1930 to 1937 we lived in Czernowitz, Strada Stefan cel Mare 10a and I
went to the S.P.U. school.
My cousin Erich Einhorn (friend of Celan) went to the same school. I am a
member of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Great Britain and I have had
several articles published on the town, my trip to
Post Glasnost Chernivstsy and some of its sons e.g. Joseph Schmidt and
Albin Eisenstein.
Recently I have been fortunate to meet Professors Marianne Hisch and Leo
Spitz who launched their latest
enthralling book on Czernowitz. All my documents and my Genealogical tree
dating back to about 1795 are deposited with the Wiener Library in London
