Sorry Hedwig, not only is it sung Maedis on this clip but at least since 1959
when i heard it for the first time at the Volksoper, the Viennese dialect came
through and Maedis it was, not Maedels. As a matter of fact, to be correct
German it should be Maedchen, not Maedels and not Maedis - but who should
quarrel with artistic freedom?
