Dear Mr. Hauster,

Unless I missed some of the correspondence, I don't understand the purpose
of the current excavations. Are they part of an historic investigation, an
undertaking to collect in a centralized place the remains of WWII victims
(as has been done with German war dead in the Ukraine), or a forensic
investigation of war crimes perpetrated by the Romanian Army? Who arranged
these excavations and who finances them? Is there a Jewish participation in
the documentation of the findings? What plans exist for the eventual
disposal of the exhumed bodies?
Many of my relatives perished in Transnistria and my wife has been active in
organizing in Atlanta, Georgia, USA a group that aims to protect mass graves
of Shoah victims in Western Ukraine, hence my interest in this matter. She
has met with Father Patrick Debois.

Thank you for bringing the events in Moghilev-Podolsk to the attention of
Cz-L.

Regards,

Fred Schneider
