Hi Mimi.? It was a old, but not originally saying in Czernowitz:
Wozu denn in die Ferne scheifen, wenn das Gute liegt so nah"""
Why to go to Czernowitz for a reunion, if Tel-Aviv is so near????
In an other order of ideas...you promised me, if you are going to
Czernowitz, you will do something for the tombstone of my late father, ???do
you remember, I wrote you, that my son from NJ will return youthe cost...
but not to expansif, to 500 $, I am expecting your answer, Have a nice
trip...
I was invited to Berlin to present my new book about Czernoitz... so, if
par chance, you would return from Czernowitz through Berlin, the lecture
will be on the 7. september on the "Inselgalerie" My son has some meetings
in Budapest on the end of August and will reach me in Berlin at 3 Sept. May
be until my departure on the 1.Sept. you can write me the result about the
tombstone???
Have a nice trip, and may be we schall organise a reunion in Tel-Avivin
2011, at Pesach???? If I will be able to partipate, that is the question//
Der Mensch denkt und Gott lenkt, and in my age, you know......love Hedwig

Anny is certainly right in writing that the Israeli Czernowitzers could meet
for coffee and talk.
This is harder for the rest of us, but if we manage to clear the Jewish
cemetery of Czernowitz of all weedy vegetation, and if enough people are
interested, I volunteer to organize a Czernowitz Reunion in Chernivtsi.
