Congratulations,
Professional work of high skill and knowledge.
Not for the layman. But if feel you want to do it , here is how:
Take a map you want to graft to a Google Earth.
Enter Google Earth and navigate to your location.
Apply a thin layer of contact glue to backside of map.
Zoom Google Earth map to the same scale as jpg.
Stick map to Google swiftly considering coordinates .
Bring roads and Panoramios to upper layer .
You can also plant buildings and trees.
           This is named compilation !

Subject: [Cz-L]New Map Compilation: Google Earth + Bukovina 1910

Cernowitzers...

I've added to the latest post in our Ehpes.com Blog, "Virtual Sightseeing
Flight Over Czerowitz",

http://ehpes.com/blog1/2010/08/05/sightseeing-flight-over-czernowitz/

as a new map compilation a picture displaying Google Earth + Bukovina 1910.
This compilation has also been implemented by Julius Großmann from
Heidelberg in Germany, who comments as follows (translated from German):

"...I've calibrated the old map, as the frontiers of Bukovina are slightly
visible on current maps. A quite interesting work, as the k.u.k.
cartographers worked at that time on the basis of the Ferro-Meridian, which
is displaced by 17° 40 min. in comparison to the currently commonly used
Greenwich Meridian; therefore a lot of calculations were needed. Jerome has
composed an excellent cartographic library..."

BTW, Jerome, should we include Julius' map compilations in our Ehpes map
section?

Best wishes to all of you!
