As most of the trade was in jewish hands ,Yiddish was the trade language.
Used by Jews and non Jews.
When jewish tradesmen exchanged trade confidentials in front of
a non- jewish customer ,there was always a chance that he would
understand.
Warnings in Yiddish wouldn't help so the tradesman had code
words for such a situation:
The code was : Er is a "Meyven kol diber " which in Hebrew means:
" Understands all spoken ".
This he was supposed not to understand.
