Mimi..my grandmother used to make it,a base of dried stale black bread and
yeast and fermentation..see similar recipe in google. It is a taste you
either love or hate...the home made and unfiltered is far superior to the

I never actually drank kvas. The only reason I am familiar with the word, is
that when someone said "was?" instead of "Bitte", he or she was told:
