Hello to Mimi and all with wishes for a prosperous, healthy and peaceful
year.

Thank you for your note. I have photocopies of all the correspondence, which
I could recopy, and could scan the pictures and pertinent documents - some
anyhow, there are so many with faces I do not recognize. It will take some
time for me to get through some immediate stuff I have to finish up first. I
think it too much of an undertaking for me to scan all the correspondence.
If I need any advice, I will contact you.

Dan Dumitriu, in her recent letter to the list, mentioned the Jewish Museum
in Czernowitz as a possible repository for the collection of letters of
Robert Burton.
I visited the museum, when I was in Czernowitz in August and had a long
conversation with Josef Zissels, the founder and financer of the museum as
well as with the new curator, Mikola Kushnir.
The museum is still very small and does not have facilities to preserve
documents and letters in climate controlled conditions. Therefore I would
not consider it as a repository for original letters and documents, but both
Zissels and Kushnir asked that I write members of this list and ask you to
contribute copies of documents and photographs pertaining to our way of life
in Czernowitz to the collection of the museum.

Please, all of you, if you have documents and photographs which you think
are suitable for the museum, please scan and send them to me and I will
forward them to Mr. Kushnir.
