Cornel is right, King David is mentioned as having red hair.
Genetically, red hair is not a dominant trait, red haired people can have
children who's hair is another color and people with brown, black or blond
hair can have red haired children.
In many parts of Europe, it was generally assumed that only Jews had red
hair, but this obviously not true, since many Scotts and Czechs have red
hair too. Think of the legend of Rübezahl, the giant from Bohemia.
