[Cz-L] Language

  Hello Czernowitzers,
1.The daily messages are getting more interesting and educational day by
day. Thank you to all who contribute.
2.Today at the synagogue we arrived early at the same time as the Rabbi,
who is the son of Shalom Ben Chorin,and a witty man, and he told us
quickly a joke:
A Jew comes to Germany. His friend follows a week later and asks him:
how is it here? Terrible, answers his friend, you can't imagine what
these Germans have done to Yiddish!!!
3.As to providing photos for the List, great idea. Will start looking
for the best one of course, might take weeks! And poor Jerome might need
weeks to sort them out, but fortunately he is quicker than me.
4. Wishing you all, well over the fast!

P.S. Talking of ending the fast, my aunt Mary (Malka) who lived in
Curacao, could set up and cook for a party of 50-70 persons in a couple
of days.
She made wonderful knishes, filled with fried onions, potatoes, egg ,
salt and pepper. Does anyone remember knishes?
