"Der Tag - The Day" (http://czernowitzdaily.blogspot.com/) is starting "today" (21.09.1932/2010) under the headline

"Wolf or Lupu - Blüma or Floare?"

a series of articles, covering a serious problem, that Jews - and other minorities too - had to face in Greater Romania. Altough ANTICONSTITUTIONAL, Czernowitz authorities deliberately "ro(u)manized" the first names, when issuing the new ID's in 1932. This process was based on a law from the year 1924, which was apparently not practized until 1932, when the ro(u)manization became more and more virulent.

So, my grandfather Elias Hauster (http://radautz.blogspot.com/) was - against his will - "baptized" at the age of 53 and became Ilie Hauster.
