Christianity, in general, is meant to replace Judaism (Supersessionism) and that’s the logic linguistic and theological meaning of the “Old Testament” and “New Testament”.

On the other hand the Star of David is almost exclusively and strongly associated with Judaism for the last centuries, even if it’s not rooted in the Halacha. The Nazis knew it and also the founders of the State of Israel chose the Magen David as the flag emblem.

In the light of the above two statements the question still remains – what could be the reason that a mainstream Christian university, like this in Czernowitz and other Christian Institutions, are willing to use a so Jewish associated symbol.

The only idea that crossed my mind is as follows:
The theological reason for the replacement according to the prevailing Christian dogma is that Israel had her chance (Old Testament), but was unfaithful, sinned and failed God and therefore God has changed His mind and the promises given to Israel are now for the Church (New Testament).

So, the conclusion is simple: real Israel is the Church, and if so, the symbol of Israel belongs to the real Israel – namely the Church that can proudly use the Magen David symbol by right.
