Just another bit of evidence.Inthe "History of the Jews of the
Bukowina"(Geschichte der Juden in der Bukowina) it states that on 8th May
1873 the cornerstones of the Temple were laid. First stone was laid by Chief
Rabbi Igel,and the second by the Orthodox Archbishop Hacman. I doubt whether
this kind of interfaith co-operation happened in many other places in that
period.....Czernowitz was very special!!! Cornel
