In 1940 Hitler called on all Volksdeutsche to return to the Vaterland.
 They followeed suit,
 "Der Vater rufft, die Kinder folgen " or something similar was the slogan.

through the streets
As for the Germans they came in droves from Roscha with the current idea
"Drang
nach dem Osten auf Judische Kosten" push to the east on the Jewish back. In
the
1940 Germans had no reason to flee on the contrary. they saw victory and
