I am not sure that the birth of Jewish children were registered while we
were in the ghetto. Even if you were born on September 27, going to the
ghetto with a 12 day old baby, must have been a horrible experience for your
parents. On the other hand, you might indeed have been born in the ghetto
and your parents might have had very good reasons for trying to claim that
you were 12 days older. If your birth was registered, you should be ale to
get a copy from the archives in Chernivtsi. I believe that many members of
this list were able to obtain copies of birth-certificates and other
documents.
