I can imagine, that although there was Hitler and Holocaust, but if we all were
still living in Czernowitz,

there would be no such CZ-list, as there aren't such list in many towns through
Europe, I believe.

I can imagine, that if there were no Hitler and no Holocaust, but we all were
dispersed through the world,
because, for instance, nobody would like to live in Czernowitz under Soviet
rule, and the Soviets would have

opened the border as this was the case 1945 and 1946, such a list would probably
exist.

In my opinion, the main cause for this list is the dispersal of the Czernowitz
population and

the unique cultural tradition in Czernowitz which is worth to be mentioned.

Alex

We ? A social group ?
If there was no Hitler and no Holocaust , and we lived in Cz. today
we wouldn't even have met .
    The majority, anyhow.
The Holocaust made us partners sharing the same fate.
      And the same memories.
Of the town where we were young.
And a world that wouldn't have us.
