Hello Hardy!
My grandfather's house/yard, bordered (if it is correct to say so) the old
Jewish cemetery. I think that the yard was located south to the cemetery. Do
you have more photos of the surrounding? Asher Turtel.

The old jewish cemetery on the Steilegasse.
Also called the Turkish.
This what is left anyhow.
The Soviets leveled the place.
Gravestones removed. On the Turkish steps renovation
some broken headstones were found .They were also lost.
What a story these tombstones could have revealed !
Telling a story of the Czernowitzer Jewry we can only guess.
What a pity !
Hardy
