That is not necessarily correct....there could have been Poles,Russians
,Ukrainians etc following the Armenian church rites....which means that they
were not ethnic Armenian. Cornel

architect who designed "Die Residenz". I wonder which he designed first, or
whether he designed both at the same time.

There must have been considerably more Armenians in Czernowitz in the
1860ies, than there were in 1930. In the map of the ethnic groups in
Czernowitz according to the 1930 census accessible at:

in 1930 there were only about 1000 people living in Czernowitz, who did not
belong to one of the major ethnic groups, such as German, Jewish, Polish,
Romanian, Russian or Ukrainian. Which means that there were less than 1000
Armenians living in Czernowitz and vicinity.
