Dear Hardy and Miriam,
Thank you for helping out with short historical lessons for those in need.
I tried the same with some details in geography in my previous e-mail.
Some of us are not the facebook or twitter type and consider privacy still
as important as before the introduction of the internet The subject of
ancestors is after all a private matter.
Thanks for the details regarding the Terner family.
Waszkoutz- Austria or Vascauti -Romania is of course known to us to. My son
and I have been researching for over ten years and collected hundreds of
names related to this family. It involved a lot of letter writing via snail
mail, phone conversations, meetings and visits to different places.
It is from my grandfather, also a Wiznitzer Chassid, that I learned about
the Spanish Sephardic origin of the Ternera(original name) family.
There are even other individuals with the family name Terner not related to
the Spanish/ Galizian/ Bukowinean branches, as far as we know, we have met
some of them.
With best regards,
Wolf .
