Hi David, for sure, it is LCS, Liceul Carmen Sylva, named after the first
reine of Roumania, this was her name as poet. The Carmen Sylva "Lyceum" was
foundet in the began of the 30.ies, by two jewish teachers, we called them
professors, Jurmann and Schwarz. It was a private "Lyceum", like the
"Hoffmann"Liceum...with the same rights like the state-schools.but the taxes
were higher than at the state-schools...the upper-class children went there
... all three schools were only for girls, there were not one mixt school in
Czernowitz...only the primary schools, the private ones, like Meisler,
Comenius, Safa-Yvria, were mixt
Liceul de Fete No.2 was the school; I frequented, and the uniform was the
same, only the white collar was different and the ribbon.
Best regards Hedwig Brenner
