Ms. Cohn,

You are correct in stating "I seem to recall looking at this particular
photo once before" in regard to Mr.. Hardy Breier's post of 11/28/10. It was
included in a post by Mr. Breier on Monday 10/12/2009 subject: [CZ-L]
Pardini Corso. The link to the photo in the 10/12/10 post is

That was followed with a post by Ms. Miriam Taylor on 10/13/09 subject: Re:
[Cz-L] Pardini Corso, in which she provided additional comment to Mr.
Breier's posting.

The photo linked in Mr. Breier's 10/12/10 post is enlarged to a greater
degree than the same photo in Mr. Breier's post of 11/28/10 subject:
Promenade.

Coincidently, Mr. Brier's post of 11/28/10, was once again followed by a
post from Ms. Taylor, where she asks two questions and provides opinion on
the date of the photograph based on the clothes worn by the people
promenading.

As of this writing, the 11/28/10 postings are not yet available on the CZ-L
website. However you can access them by sending an email to
lyris_at_list.cornell.edu and include the command wording:
"get czernowitz-l 20101128" (without the quotation marks) in the subject
line.

As a follow-up to this conversation about the photograph of the promenade, I
seem to recall looking at this particular photo once before. Judging by the
clothing, particularly of the women, this photograph was taken circa 1910.
The women are wearing stylish fashions from the period and nothing like what
they would have worn at the turn of the century or the 1890s as has been
suggested.
