I can only admire their courage to speak out.
  In a state where jew- hate and discrimination
  were daily was standard manifestations you needed
  exceptional courage to speak your mind.
   I don't know and cannot corraborate this but this
   kind of freedom of the press was possible only
   in Czernowitz, for obvious reasons.
     Jewish Czernowitz had courage , had an opinion
     and a voice.
     Mostly it had half of Czernowitz' population.

I have the same feelings.For 6 months now I'm reading the "Tag" and I'm
wondering too: is the Censor asleep?

"Der Tag" is jewish owned and most writers are Jewish, but the newspaper is
not meant for jewish readers only and does not represent the Jews.
The editors are very much socially engaged and often do it courageosly.
I believe that in 1933 there will be changes, may be there will be less of
the freedom of press .
We shall wait and see.

What amazes me is the freedom of press in these years.
  I dont know who ruled in Bucharest in 1932 but as far as jews
  were concerned there was general consent..
   Everything was permitted.
    How did they permit this press report ?
