Hardy..this statue looks very much like the Empress Maria Theresia...might
well have been based on her. Where have they found it?? Cornel

   This is an etching of the Austria monument on the Austriaplatz.
    This statue was removed by the rumanians in 1918 or so.
    Now they have found it , broken.
      This is how Austria was pictured :
     A woman , plumpy and oversize - maybe with child.
       In one hand she holds a sword in the other a flowers wreath..
         On the head - a flower pot.
         Affluence .
       According to classic tradition she wears a roman toga but
        even this cannot hide the bulging body.
