Dear Czernowitzers,
Some of my relatives, belonging to the extended REISBERG family from
Czernowitz , have asked me to help them to be added as members/subscribers
to the Czernowitzer List. Bruce advised me to send the presentation even to
all of you as a part of the history of the list members and of course a part
of the history of Czernowitz.
-Jacob Reisberg -Rosenmann born 1914 in Czernowitz , living in Israel, and
his wife
-Gita Stechman (married Rosenmann) born 1915 in Soroca, now in Israel
-and their daughter Ruth Rosenmann ( married Levental) born 1946 in
Czernowitz, now in Israel.
The grand-grandfather of Jacob Reisberg, born in Kolomea around 1800 moved
to Czernowitz where his son Eliezer Leopold Reisberg was born in 1830.
Eliezer Leopold became the owner of a bookshop and lending library in
Czernowitz. His daughter Marie Reisberg (married Rosenmann) was born 1885 in
Czernowitz and was the mother of Jacob(Jacky) Reisberg Rosenmann born 1914
in Czernowitz, now living with his family in Israel.
My own relationship to the Reisbergs is my grandfather Leo Reisberg.
Leo Reisberg was a brother of Marie Reisberg ( married Rosenmann) and the
father of my mother, Sidonia Reisberg (married Terner).
With best regards to all,
Wolf .( Wolf Terner, Stockholm)

OBS: The e-mail address of the new members is: Ruth Levental,
brava_at_netvision.net.il
Gita and Jacob being to fragile for using the internet directly.
They use the following languages: German, Hebrew, Romanian, Russian,
Ukrainian but even English when necessary.
I think Gita and Jacob are the "oldest" subscribers to the Czernowitzer
List.
