Aren't riebiesel called "currants" in English?

The Riebiesel were tasty in Czernowitz and are tasty now. We buy them at th=

Super in Canada and obviously I bought them at the market in Kiev; they are
sour, but that is their excelent taste. In Czernowitz dry wine was called
in Yiddish "Sauerer Wahn (Wein)
