Another option is the route my family and I took - arriving in Bucharest,
from Israel on El Al, although I arrived there from Australia, and flying
from Bucharest to Suceava.
>From there by road to Czernowitz - not so direct, but an interesting road
trip and an additional travel experience.
We used the Bucharest stopover to do some sightseeing, including a Jewish
landmarks tour.

I believe there are flights from Tel Aviv to airports also used by
Carpatair,and even if it involves a plane change in Timisoara it is probably
still quicker than sitting around Kiev plus the flight time to Czernowitz.
