Liebe Czernowitzers!
I am a researcher looking for any information regarding the Lebzelters of
Radautz/Radauti and Czernowitz. Anna Lebzelter was deported with her
daughter, Blanca Lebzelter (b. approx. 1920), to Moghilev/Moghilau from
Radauti in June 1941. Anna's husband/Blanca's father (name unknown) and
son/brother respectively (Bruno Lebzelter) were killed in Radauti in late
June. Blanca's fiance, a doctor named Walter (last name unknown) was
"relocated" to Bessarabia in early June, supposedly in order to organize a
medical office, he was reported to have died a short time later. Though they
were living in Radauti in 1941, at least part of the family seems to
originally have been from Czernowitz (mother's side? maiden name unknown). I
am looking for any material on this family whatsoever including missing
names, extended family members, photographs, etc. Anna died in 1952, buried
in Ploiesti, and Blanca left Romania in 1961, I do not know what became of
her, she was the last of her immediate family (she did not remarry and had
no children, she and Bruno were the only siblings). Blanca was also close
friends with Babette Chomed, definitely of Czernowitz, who moved to
Bucharest and then Medias after the war.
To sum up: looking for information and photographs of the Lebzelters and
intimate friends:
Father (name unknown) died in 1941, Radauti
Anna Lebzelter, 1892-1952, Moghilev 1942-1945
Bruno Lebzelter (engineering/architecture student), killed in 1941
Blanca Lebzelter, 1922-?, Moghilev 1942-1945, Constanta approx 1946-1961,
emigrated thereafter to ?
Walter ?, doctor, Blanca's fiance, ?-1941
Babette Chomed, born approx. 1920, from Czernowitz, moved to Bucharest and
then Medias until her death.
