Definitely, there was an Oberjudengasse in Cz. It started not far from the
"Heiliger Kreuzplatz" (on the right hand side of the Hauptstrasse, coming
from the Ringplatz) and further down to the older Jewish quarter.

Maybe I'm not informed well enough but I never heard of the Oberjudengasse
(Upper Jewish street) although we had relatives that lived in the Judengasse
("De Yiddishe Gass"). To my opinion this represents the atmosphere of the
social aspirations of the Jewish population that strived to improve its
financial and social status by moving away from the typical Shtetel-type
Jewish quarter by moving to the center and upper parts of the city. They
(we) were very much a Class-minded community. All this changed of course in
1941 when all the Jews were crowded back into the Jewish quarter (the
Ghetto). My family was very thankful to our relatives from the Judengasse
for letting us stay with them.
