[Cz-L]Native Czernowitzers who were once part of the Yiddish Theatre

Hi all,

I am currently take on the arduous task of transliterating from Yiddish to
English the name indexes of all six volumes of Zalmen Zylbercweig's "Lexicon
of the Yiddish Theatre."

There are a relatively small number of those listed who were born in
Czernowitz (mostly within ten years either way of 1900). I would like to
present a short exhibition within my World Jewish Communities: Czernowitz
online exhibition about those native Czernowitzers who were once associated
with the Yiddish theatre. However, my Yiddish is lacking and is mostly good
for transliterating Yiddish names to English.

Will one (or more) or you who have confidence in your ability to translate
Yiddish volunteer to translate various paragraphs of biographical
information about these Czernowitzers?

Also, I've just run across a listing for someone who was born in a town
(Yiddish letters: beyz, alef [pasekh alef, i.e. with the little line under
the alef], beyz, yud, final [or langer] nun). Is it Babin, Bavin, Vabin,
Vavin?? It says the town is "by Czernowitz, Bukovina."

Thanks. I know a lot of Czernwitzers are not that familiar with Yiddish, but
maybe there is one or two of you who can help.
