Yiddish is not German ?
   German has 30 - 40 dialects.
The Berliner does not understand the Bavarian.
The same as the Litvaks do not understand Bessarabian.
This is why they held the Czernowitzer Conference in 1906
        on Yiddish .
To create a Standard Yiddish all would understand.
Then all of the Jews left the place,
Hardy
