Lucca..I have no idea if we did meet then..but I too occasionally went to
the hospital..because my uncle Dr Sigmund Neuberger was one of the last
Medical Directors. He died in 1943 and lies next to my grandparents just to
the right of the chapel building. Cornel

My maternal grandfather, Joseph Weisinger, was employed as the kashrut
mashgiach (I don't know how to translate this into English, it means that he

supervised the food to be kosher in the hospital) and as a small childhe
took me along with him and I played a lot in the courtyard there with Donja
Schaetzmann, whose mother was the chief housekeeper of the hospital.

Donja's brother, Poldi, was in later years the musical director in our
Habimah.
Donja herself is my next-door neighbor here. We talk a lot about our
unforgotten childhood, in what language? In Czernowitzerisch, of course!
