Edgar and Sharon,

The family name Ellenbogen comes from Katzenellenbogen, which is a very
ancient Jewish name. Even though I had no Ellenbogen relatives in
Czernowitz, I too have distant ancestors by that name, among the members of
the Cz.-List there is of course Peter Ellenbogen and Emil Renert who is also
a descendant of Ellenbogen.
