I was born in Lipcani. Lipcani is in what was Bessarabia, Rumania --- now Moldova and it was about a two hour train ride from Czernowitz. (I imagine the trains in those days must have been much slower than today). I was eight years old when we left Lipcani--thrown out from our house by the soviets because my parents were considered capitalists,
The name Weisman rings a bell with me; but it was such a long time ago and I was young so that, unfortunately, it's just a bell.

My father(Weisman) was from Lipcan (near Bukavina) . I don't know if
that is close.
