Asher.Hi! The Regiment was transferred to Galicia and Czernowitz in 1806-7.
I have no list of names as such,but....at the end of Vol.2 which goes till
1887 it has lists of names of officers and decorated etc soldiers...and
there are names like Rappoport and Rabinowitsch etc. In Vol. 3 which covers
1888-1905 there are pages of photos of nationalities
represented...Ruthenians,Romanians,Gypsies.Huzuls,Poles...and Jews...all
in"National Costumes".The Jews in their black outfits would all fit into
today's Mea Shearim except for the fact that with one exception they all
have military haircuts as far as can be seen and neatly trimmed beards. The
one exception sits in the middle of the group and has a long white beard and
I suspect he was the "Feldrabbiner" which was a recognised rank in the K&K
forces. At the end of this volume...more Jewish- sounding names..including a
gentleman by the name of Isaak Lewin!!! Cornel
