Mimi and Edgar,

The exhibition is going to have a "catalogue with an essay by Martin
Gayford". I am sure that catalogues would be available by post, though you
would have to enquire what is the cost of the catalogue and the postage.

The advertisement for the exhibition has another fine self portrait - "Self
Portrait in Blue Shirt, Seated". I would think that this will probably be
in the catalogue.

It is very unusual for anything connected with Czernowitz to happen in
London. I shall definitely go to the exhibition.

David

Mimi and David...

David, thank you so much for drawing our attention to the exhibition of
Avigdor Arikha's works in London adding the resepective URL.

Mimi, I'm subscribing - word by word - to your feelings on Avigdor's self
portrait and it applies to my father too. However I'll keep those paintings
temporarily "on stock" and reserve them for a future solo exhibition. They
are going to become fur sure the highlights of such an exhibition (much
better than in a collective exhibition), as they are much more than a self
portrait, they represent the fate of a generation of Czernowitzers held in
rugged facial features.

Meanwhile I'm encouraging everyone to explore Avigdor Arikha's oeuvre on the
Internet.

Best wishes!
