My aunt Klara Reifer had had polio as a child ant therefore had a slight
limp and could not run. During the 1941 deportations, she was already on the
train, when she needed to go to the toilet. She was allowed to get off the
train. While she was in the toilet, the train started moving. She tried to
catch up with it, my grandmother - her mother and two of my other aunts,
were on the train, but she could not run fast enough.
She found her way to my family and lived with us till the Russians arrived.
I do not know whether there were other cases of this kind.
