Like Rome, Czernowitz was built on hills.
1. The mighty Tzezina ,the tallest - where the Gods dwelt.
2. Horecea - where people were put to rest - gate to the underworld.
3. The Austriaplatz - tallest place of urban Czernowitz,
from where the Government ruled , city jail and Cathedral.
4. Weinberg , clay hill where they burnt bricks and used
to grow vines and I played football.
5. And the Residenz hill that was not a hill but the site of the
spiritual rulers.
6. The Jewish hospital hill near the Ham
and many many more I dont remember...
And down in the valley flowed the sacred Prut.
