Dear Anny,
There are several ways in which you can search for news:
The U.S.Holocaust Memorial Museum has very good records:
http://www.ushmm.org/
You can email them and ask for information.
---------------------------------------------------
The International Tracing Service (ITS) at Bad Arolsen,
Germany can help you:
http://www.its-arolsen.org/en/homepage/index.html
On this site, there are instructions on how to fill out an online
form. They take several weeks to answer you -either in email
form or in hard copy by postal mail, but they definitely do
respond to requests.
------------------------------------------------------
Footnote.com has announced that their Holocaust records from the
US National Archives are free for the month of May. Go to:
http://go.footnote.com/holocaust_records/
These records are part of the partnership Footnote.com has with the US
National Archives to digitize and place online their archival records.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Yad Vashem is a very helpful source:
http://www.yadvashem.org/wps/portal/IY_HON_Welcome
On the website, there are instructions for searching the database.
--------------------------------------------------
Good luck!
Merle

Subject: [Cz-L] searching infomation concerning a member of my family
Hello to all the members,
Hope you are all well. I had a lot of chance to find in Israel a part of my
fathers family (the Retter side) and my father’s cousin, Clara Retter Rozen
is searching information about a member of her mothers side family, it
concerns her oncle called Menashe Max Nerlinger born in Czernowitz on 1903.
His parents were Sara and Yoseph Nerlinger and he had a brother called Sinai
and a sister Zila (which was married to Dawid Retter. Menashe was married to
Martha Weizelberg and had a son 12 years old called Yoseph. He was sent on
1941 to Transnistria and since than no news. Does anyone have any
information and can helo Clara Retter Rozen ?
Many thanks in advance for your help. all my best regards to all of you,
Anny Schäfer Chemla
