Thank you Edgar for "Der Tag"...
It brings me back home throughout decades, I even enjoy the Gothic script
which has become such a rarity for a long time!
For instance I hold on to a favorite book of my childhood "Der Trotzkopf",
much loved by young girls in Czernowitz when I was very young.
And I read the articles and remember that the same articles were read by my
grandparents and my parents.
It's kind of an...eerie feeling!
Back to the here and now
thanks again!

Subject: [Cz-L] Der Tag - The Day 05.05.1933 Edition
Czernowitzers...
I'd like to draw your attention to "today's" [i. e. 05.05.1933/2011] edition
of "Der Tag - The Day", as always online available at
http://czernowitzdaily.blogspot.com/
and transcribed as always at
http://dertag.forenworld.com/index.php
Page 1: A most violent murder with robbery took place in the Herrengasse, a
crime which even in 1933 was not a daily fare for Czernowitz. 66 years old
widow and houseowner Rosa Hirsch was murdered in her appartment; not any
sign of the offenders!
Page 2: Dr. Max Diamant resigned as a council of the Czernowitz Jewish
Community, due to a disagreement with board members of the Community, who
didn't provide a room for the implementation of a Jewish Museum within the
Jewish House. So we learn, that the idea for a Jewish Museum within the
Jewish House has it's own tradition.
Page 2: Balance Sheet. A visionary article on the devastating effect of
Hitler's seizure of power on German culture, i. e. for writers, journalists,
musicians, architects, directors, etc., for the jurisdiction and the
healthcare.
Page 3: Here you'll find a names listing for the winners of the Eastern
Tombola of "Der Tag". Who knows, perhaps you'll discover one of your
relatives among the lucky winners; I did identify a potential one.
Best wishes to all of you from the Galician capital Lemberg!
