Dear Czernowitzers,

It is very sad to read the news about my friend Dorin Fraenkel. We have met
in the last 10 years many, many times and Dorin was for me a friend and a
link to the Radautzer past of our family.

Dorin was also a main narrator and pianist for our 2004/2005 documentary on
Jewish Radautz called "Eine verschwundene Welt".

He also helped us with the research for our recently published photo/text
book on the Jewish Bucovina and Transnistria in which we also published a
photo of Dorin Fraenkel at the piano.

Dorin was a good hearted man who cared about the Jewish community and the
Jewish past of Radautz. I always could count on his help, advise and
knowledge. His profound knowledge of the Bucovina's Jewish history was
really amazing. When he went with me on extensive walks and journeys through
Radautz and the area, he pointed out many places of interest and many former
synagogues. He also helped me a great deal with research at the local
archives and at the cemetery. I will always remember his humble kindness,
his willingness to help and his good heart.

Dorin was a real Radautzer.
Dorin, I will miss you.

May G'd bless his soul.
