Dear Buowiners-Czernowitzers
Allow me to join the sentimental mood with a small retrospect on my way in
this group. While working on the genealogical research of my family I
reached (on the net) Bruce some 11-12 years ago and we started to exchange
information (by the way I'm still searching and if there is some of you out
there who knows something about Dr. Eric Weiner from Port Worth Fl. I'll be
glad to hear from her/him). Anyway there were some others beside me who
"gathered on" Bruce and he decided and succeeded in generating this List.
And as they say the rest is history. But we were extremely lucky when along
the way some very creative, gifted persons joined and started to contribute
their talents to the benefit of us all. I don't want to mention their names
first because I might forget somebody, and because I expressed my
appreciation direct to them. But there is one person who for some time now
keeps bestowing on us the results of his findings and travels. I for one am
awe struck with every new feat of his - be it his ability to find sources of
information, his daring travels on his motorcycle, his dedication, and his
expertise to produce some very impressive presentations. Well, you all know
whom I mean - It's Edgar Hauster!!! (from Lent - The Netherlands). Thank you
Edgar for your contribution to our group! Kudos! Chapeau! "Kol Hakavod"!
A happy Shavuot feast to you all

Subject: [Cz-L] Czernowitz Ghetto of 1941 in 08:22 Minutes, 14,591 Meters,
200 Photos!
Czernowitzers...
I'm not quite convinced, that our discussion on the Czernowitz Ghetto
memorial plate will be completely comprehensible to those, especially
non-Jews, who made this memorial plate possible, regardless of temporary or
not. In any case, one of my main concerns during my recent visit to
Czernowitz, was the GPS tracking, mapping and measuring of the Czernowitz
Ghetto, combined with a photo documentation. In fact, this action took me
three days for a distance of 14,591 meters, compiled to a video slide show
of 8:22 minutes. 200 photos, giving a vague idea of bygone - good and not so
good - days, starting at the - disputed - memorial plate, now available for
you at
http://hauster.blogspot.com/2011/06/czernowitz-ghetto-of-1941.html
Aside from my blog http://hauster.blogspot.com/, journalizing my motorcycle
trip to Galicia and Bukovina, this posting represents the first result for
the researches, which I was able to conduct during my five weeks trip.
Enjoy the presentation!
