Nevertheless it has, what are probably correct facts and figures
about the size and ethnic as well as religious make up of the
Cernauti city
and Cernauti Judicial District.

A few days ago we were corresponding about the prominent Jewish
professionals
and artists, in Canada and the US, who had Czernowitz roots.
The list of prominent people born in Czernowitz, as given on this
website,
is for all ethnic groups, but it lists the ethnicity of each person.

Eugen Ehrlich (Elias Ehrlich, 1862–1922), romanist, jurist și
sociolog al dreptului,
    evreu-austriac, convertit la catolicism, profesor la
Universitatea Cernăuți.
Moisei Fișbein (n. 1947), poet, prozator și traducător evreu-
ucrainean.
    A trăit un timp în Israel, SUA și Germania.
