It makes a lot of sense, that Willy Pragher might have been at least
partially Jewish.
Jewish family names very often are names of cities and countries,
often also with "er" ending,
indicating where they are from.
For instance:
Polak - from Poland
Landau - from Landau
Brotzki - from Brody
Wiznitzer - indicating the family is from Wiznitz
Berliner - indicating the family is from Berlin
Auslander - coming from abroad
Prager - coming from Prague, the 'h' was added, otherwise in Romanian
it would have been pronounced " Prajer" with the j pronounced like in
joy.
